About Us - Older Tees.

Hormones and surgery are not about changing a person's sex.
They are about assisting that person to cope with one of the most profound birth defects imaginable, that of being born in a body of the opposite sex.

Older Tees came about from the inclusion of transsexuals in the common acronym GLTB - we are the T's. Older Tees is a support network for trans people worldwide, who identify as being older. There are no lower age limits or upper. Older Tees isn't an association or formal group, it's a network of people facing similar life issues. The only person involved in it's operations is a facilitator. Older Tees has no affiliations or connections with any other organisation.

Use of the network, at it's most basic level, is having someone to talk to, without the need to provide any of your details. Progress to one-on-one face-to-face meetings, small discussion groups, through to larger social gatherings is wholly under the control of the individual.

The main focus of Older Tees is towards trans people living full time in their adopted gender. People living normal lives, yet lives perhaps tinged with loneliness and isolation because of their history.

Hopefully those who visit this website will find a wealth of information to help ease their journey. There are areas of medical, support and general information. Plus a forum where discussions of aspects relevant to older trans people take place . Please do not hesitate in contacting the webmistress with any queries you may have.

At times we all have a need to talk to someone who has traveled the same road - someone who can just listen with understanding. So tell us about your journey - absolute confidentiality is assured.   E-mail us at:- info (at) oldertees.net.

Take care and keep well

Hugs Alison
